To further explore the remelted steel new market and expand sale, the Remelted Steel Institute produced successfully the trial production of GH4169 super alloy remelted steel recently, which marked a breakthrough on the high temperature alloy production capacity.
GH4169 alloy has a excellent overall performance in the low-high temperature range. Its yield strength below 650 ℃ ranks first in the high temperature super alloy. It has a good anti-fatigue, anti-radiation, anti-oxidation, corrosion resistance, processing properties and welding performance to manufacture various parts in complex shape which has a very wide range of applications in the aerospace, nuclear, oil industry and the extrusion die.
There is 4.75-5.5% niobium content in GH4169 alloy. The design in electrode surface, internal quality control and process parameters of ESR will directly affect the internal quality of ESR ingot and form niobium rich and poor white spots easily by segregation. Also there are 0.7% Al and 1.0% Ti containing in the alloy. They are burn easily in the ESR process. After sufficient technical preparation and demonstration, the technician choose a special smelting process and develop a special control measures of anti-oxidation and anti-segregation to produce 1tФ400mmGH4169 super alloy successfully in the atmosphere protection ESR furnaces.
