Marking the 116th anniversary of International Working Women’s Day (IWD), Xingtai Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. presented bespoke spring gifts to its 296 female employees across all posts, paying high tribute to these tough yet graceful “steel roses” who strive on two critical fronts: daily production & operation and the company’s transformation and relocation project construction.

Distinct from previous years, this year’s welfare activity puts greater focus on heartfelt warmth. While steel itself may feel cold to touch, the people who forge it are filled with passion and compassion. The 296 women are stationed in every production workshop and department across the firm: some operate overhead traveling cranes and conduct lab testing; others serve as brain trust experts tackling technical bottlenecks and resolute Iron Ladies taking charge in management roles.

During the activity, Wei Ligang, Deputy Party Secretary, Deputy General Manager and Chairman of the Company’s Trade Union, remarked: “The steel industry is undergoing profound restructuring, and the enterprise’s steady, long-term development hinges on the joint dedication of all staff. Balancing responsibilities as mothers, wives and daughters, our female employees invariably shoulder extra burdens. These 296 women are not only the backbone of their individual families but also a vital stabilizer fuelling the company’s high-quality growth. The gifts we hand out today represent far more than benefits — they stand as our salute to female wisdom and female commitment.”

Moving forward, Xinggang’s Trade Union will roll out a string of follow-up initiatives, including legal literacy campaigns for women workers, health lectures and the “Most Exemplary Family” selection program. It will keep building a caring employee community, enabling women’s strength to shine ever brighter amid the tempering of steel.
