Recently, Xingtai Steel makes a breakthrough in the steel for Self-Piercing Riveting, which has widely praised by users. It not only breaks the monopoly of imported raw materials, but also once again shows our strong brand advantages and core competitiveness.

　　In 2018, Xingtai Steel began to develop this technique for joining of dissimilar materials. Over the years, the R&D team has been communicating with the suppliers, exploring the technique of SPR (procedures includes hardening, tempering and strengthening) and the characteristics of products (high hardness, good plasticity, impact resistance, fatigue resistance, etc.). In response to the needs of customers, the R&D team emphasizes "precise identification, precise definition, fine analysis, precise improvement", timely find out the key crux to solve the problem. Through multiple rounds of mechanism analysis, benchmarking comparison, we provided the multi-dimensional, effective technical services and made a set of effective plan for product optimization to successfully realize the mass production of SPR products.

　　In recent years, the requirements of low-carbon environment became tighten, which aimed at reducing energy consumption, improving vehicle control stability and the "lightweight" of crash safety. It has become the trend of automotive industry. However, because of the difference in material performance, there are many problems in the welding process of steel-aluminium hybrid bodywork. In the riveting process, SPR has the advantages of low energy consumption, no thermal effect and no damage to coating, so SPR has become a connection technique often applied in connecting dissimilar materials. Cases in Audi, Range Rover, Azera, Jaguar and other models already have successfully applied this technique.
