All Staff of Xing Steel Join On-site Renovation, Revitalizing the Plant & Stimulating Internal Vitality

Spring permeates the land of Xingtai. To further consolidate foundational management and optimize the production working environment, Xingtai Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. has fully launched a one-month intensive on-site environmental improvement campaign starting in April. Unlike previous campaigns that merely relied on professional cleaners or outsourced contractors, this initiative features full staff participation and self-reliance. Through a scientifically coordinated departmental contracted responsibility system, administrative functional departments are closely paired with frontline production workshops. The goal is to achieve maximum improvement of the plant environment with minimal capital investment.
In accordance with the company’s overall arrangement, a joint leading group consisting of the General Affairs Office and the Environmental Protection Department takes charge of advancing the renovation work. In terms of organizational structure, the company has broken down inter-departmental barriers and further deepened the full-participation model by implementing a responsibility system where functional departments take charge of respective branch plants. Under the detailed plan, 18 functional departments including the Information & Automation Department, Human Resources Department, Purchasing Department, Technology Center, Safety Department, Production Department and Sales Company have been assigned to seven major secondary units. The core production divisions — Ironmaking Plant, Steelmaking Plant, Wire Rod Mill and Energy & Power Department — are each supported by three joint functional departments. The Coking Plant, Storage & Transportation Center and Quality Control Department are each covered by two functional departments. This deployment of managerial manpower to frontlines ensures management oversight reaches every corner of the production site.

All renovation work is carried out in strict compliance with the On-site Management Regulations, with four key priority areas clarified: green belts, roads and public facilities, and production workshops. The campaign will be rolled out in two orderly phases. On April 29, the company will arrange a final acceptance team to conduct a second round of performance ranking. Leaders of responsible units with lax on-site management and unsatisfactory renovation results will be publicly notified on the company’s internal network.
To guarantee seamless handover of responsibilities, the plan clearly defines the scope of collaborative work between road sweepers and secondary units. Road sweepers are solely responsible for road surface cleaning, while the respective on-site units shall handle detailed edge trimming. If the road sweeping team evades its obligations, the Environmental Protection Department will impose assessments in accordance with relevant rules. If responsible units delay maintenance without valid reasons, the General Affairs Office will follow up to hold them accountable. Clear division of rights and responsibilities effectively eliminates management gaps.

At present, the special column on Xingtai Iron & Steel’s internal network is continuously updated with before-and-after photos submitted by all units. The photos vividly capture the gradual transformation of the plant: overgrown weeds have been trimmed into neat landscapes, and equipment covered in oil stains and dust is now clean and bright. This on-site renovation campaign is far more than an environmental cleanup drive — it also serves as a concentrated exercise to boost team cohesion.
